Bra Shapes

Finding the right bra doesn’t just mean getting the size right.

From strapless lingerie that you’ll only wear with that little black dress to the nude T-shirt bras you’ll never want to take off, different bra shapes suit different occasions.

And then there’s that little question of bust shape. Is there such a thing as a specific bra style that suits a specific kind of cleavage? Well, kind of. Balconettes are great for wide-set busts, for example, while plunge bras look great if you’ve a small bust and narrow shoulders.

While you might have a favourite bra shape or style already, our guide will give you a few more options for your lingerie drawer.

Full Cup Bras
Have wider set straps and can give more of a rounded shape without coming up too high.

Plunge Bras
Cut much lower at the centre to create a plunging shape for great cleavage.

Balconette Bras
Have wider set straps and can give more of a rounded shape without coming up too high.

Padded Bras
A padded bra has foam lining in the cups. Ideal for eliminating nipple show through and for creating a smooth shape. This style does not always mean adding inches to your bust.

Half Cup Bras
Perfect for giving you lift, but staying discreet under lower-cut tops.

T-Shirt Bras
A t-shirt bra is usually lightly padded and moulded for a smooth fit with no cup seams. Ideal for eliminating seam show-through in t-shirts.

Strapless/Multiway Bras
A multiway bra has straps that can be re-positioned to offer options of halter-neck, cross back or one shoulder. A strapless bra is designed to give 100% of the support needed in a bra from around the underband. Ideal for evening wear.

Non Wired Bras
A non-wired bra does not contain a wire. All of the support comes from the shape of the style combined with the fabrics and the components. Ideal for comfort.
