How to choose the perfect winter pyjamas

Going out-out is so last season. Winter’s arrived and here at Pour Moi HQ we’re all about the staying in-in. From girlie nights with your besties to board games after a Sunday roast, staying in-in is the perfect way to stay sociable, even when it’s lashing down outside.

But just because you won’t be setting foot beyond the front doorstep, that doesn’t mean you’ll want to slop around in an oversized tee and trackie bottoms. The right pyjamas can elevate hibernation mode to a whole new level of glamour - and really turn your home into your happy place.

Luckily Pour Moi has the perfect pyjama sets for every staying in-in occasion - and there are even mix and match options to help you create the pair that’s right for you. Not sure what works best with what? We can help. All you need is a bit of PJ creativity - and our staying in-in guide.

Staying in-in with friends

Too cold and rainy to get dolled up and go out? Winter’s the perfect excuse to gather your friends  for a girlie night in. And, trust us, you’ll be wanting to start those Instagrammable pillow fights early when you’ve got these Sofa Love Idlewild pyjamas in your overnight bag. With their on-trend animal print and fashion-forward cuffed bottoms, you can go matchy-matchy in the pyjama set, or pair the trousers with an off-the-shoulder top in a rich, berry bright. Then just take a photo and watch those likes come rolling in…

Staying in-in at your parents’ house

It’s lovely to revert back into teenage lounging mode when you’re staying at your parents’ house. But while fleece pyjamas look cosy, they don’t work well when the heating’s turned up full blast. Don’t complain about the furnace-like conditions! Make the most of them instead in a short set that you can wear again in the summer. The Siesta short sleeve pyjama top and pyjama shorts work well, and you could even get the matching Siesta trousers to wear when you’re back in the more temperate surroundings of your own home.

Staying in-in after a Sunday roast

Just eaten your body weight in roast beef and all the trimmings? And then eaten all the leftover trimmings too? There’s nothing nicer than changing into loungewear after a big winter meal, before settling down by the fire for a film or a few board games. Believe us, you’ll want something soft, long and roomy enough to accommodate a bit of extra apple crumble, and our Moonstruck pyjama trousers let you do just that. With their luxurious feel, gorgeous moon-and-star print and cool cuffed ankles, match them with the Moonstruck secret support top and extended family won’t even know you’ve changed into your PJs.

Staying in-in with that special someone

Having a sleepover with a special someone you’re really trying to impress? You’ll probably want your sleepwear to look sexy, without making it look like you’re trying too hard. Luckily we have the perfect solution. Nothing says ‘my life is fabulous and you really want to be a part of it’ like this sexy yet understated set of high-waist shorts and strapped long-sleeve top from our Sofa Love ladies pyjama collection. Just-woke-up-like-this gorgeousness, guaranteed!

Staying in-in AND going out-out

Want pyjamas that are good enough to wear when you’re going out-out too? As part of the whole underwear as outerwear trend, wearing printed, silky pyjamas out of the house is a huge trend, and you can get the look yourself! There’s no need to go the whole hog, though. These Dusk satin wide leg trousers look chic with a black polo neck, or wear just the pyjama top from this Dusk pyjama set over boyfriend jeans.
