With traditional date nights of restaurant dinners and late night cocktails on hold for the time being, many couples are doing all they can to recreate a romantic ambience in the comfort of their own home. Candles, wine, fine food and, of course, some racy lingerie or sexy stockings can certainly add to the atmosphere, but what is date night without a little music to get you in the mood and take you from the lounge to the bedroom?
Everyone has their own idea of the perfect pleasure playlist for getting sexy with a partner. So we decided to delve into the data and discover the most popular tunes people are putting on to get it on.
We rummaged through Spotify data and analysed over 300,000 songs from playlists with titles such as ‘sex playlist’, ‘baby-making’ and ‘shagging’, until we’d uncovered the most popular tracks to get it on to.
But who says you have to be in a couple to have a hot night in? We’d never want to leave out our sexy singles, so we also uncovered the tunes that touch people so much they have to touch themselves. After analysing over 20,000 songs from playlists with names like ‘solo sex’, we were able to pull together a sultry selection of the most popular tunes for those seeking a little self-pleasure.
The most popular songs for seduction
The data shows that it’s ‘All The Time’ by Jeremih that’s the most popular song for couples getting down and dirty. The song, released in 2013 and featuring Lil Wayne and Natasha Mosley, is slow, sultry and extremely explicit – so it’s perhaps not surprising that it takes the top spot.
Although another of Jeremih’s tracks (‘Birthday Sex’) also featured in the top ten, the most featured artist is The Weekend – with half the top ten being made up of his hits.
1. All The Time - Jeremih
2. Often - The Weeknd
3. Earned It – The Weeknd

The artists most listened to while making love
Hands down the most common artist was found to be The Weeknd. Songs by the Canadian singer and producer are nearly twice as likely to appear on a sexy playlist as Trey Songz who places next on the list.
R&B artists dominate the list and it seems couples prefer male tones whilst they are getting it on, Rihanna and Beyoncé are the only female singers to make it on the top ten.
1. The Weeknd
2. Trey Songz
9. Two Feet
