How to Create Creative Content with Kalifa Etienne
If you have seen her content before you will know that Kalifa Etienne is the queen of creativity. From sassy styling reels to expressing herself through makeup tutorials, her content will leave you feeling inspired.
There’s no doubt that her Instagram feed will send you all the self-love and empowerment vibes. So, we caught up with the commercial actor, content creator and Pour Moi babe on her own journey with self-love and how she creates such fabulous content.
Tell us a bit about yourself? How did you become a Content Creator?
I’ve always been a creative person and love photography. As a commercial actor, I’ve been used to having my picture taken but I hadn’t taken any of myself before until I started university. During my first year I decided to start posting fashion and styling content on Instagram. I was approached by a fashion brand to create some content and my journey began there.
You are an advocate for self-love and empowerment. What was your own journey like to get to that point?
I had never felt more confident with my body than when I’m wearing lingerie. Something about creating content in lingerie is so empowering.
What advice would you give to others on self-love and empowerment?
Being sexy is about mindset not a specific body shape. I would love for more people to be able to feel comfortable in their bodies and learn to love the skin they’re in! Remind yourself that you don’t have to fit the ideals of society and what social media deems as the perfect body. In embracing women of all different shapes, sizes and backgrounds, we can encourage self-love and acceptance.
We love how creative you are! What inspires your content?
Most people don’t know this about me, but I studied fine art, film & photography. I’ve been accustomed to creating imagery and finding new ways to film. I create content based on how I feel most of the time so that usually impacts the energy, but I love being confident, sexy and sassy! I’d say that my mum inspires me the most, she’s my biggest fan and always supports my ideas.
What has been your favourite piece of content you have created?
My favourite piece of content I have created is a toss-up between my mirror reel and my stop motion flat lay which I’m proud of, plus it took me forever to make it. The message behind the mirror reel is dear to me and I had so much fun filming and editing it.
What have been your highlights of the year, including personal and working with Pour Moi?
One of the highlights of my year has been winning the Pour Moi Ambassador Scheme. It really gave me a lot more confidence in my content and my creativity, and I felt recognised in my ability to shine! Another few highlights have been graduating from university, confirming and acting in seven commercials, collaborating with different brands on Instagram and finally, working successfully in managing socials for two companies! I’ve been very busy!
